It can be tough finding a therapist who "gets it". For us in the LGBT+ community, there is an additional challenge of finding a competent therapist who you won't have to educate about the basics of queer culture and identity. Whether you're ace spectrum, new to ENM, or curious about gender affirming care, we can get right to what you're here for: your mental health.

Alex Byrne, LCSW-C (they/them) started Pride & Joy Counseling LLC in 2023.  They also provide individual therapy services for individuals ages 16+ in Maryland.

We provide therapy from a client-centered approach.  You are the expert on you!  Therapy can be a tool to deepen your understanding of yourself, make changes to your behaviors or habits, and to work towards a life worth living for you.  Your therapist can create a space for you to work on your goals.

We provide individual therapy out-of-pocket on a sliding scale and we accept the following insurances:
